Important Privacy Information Before You Share Personal Information

Before deciding what information to share, you have the right to understand how your information may be collected, used, documented, stored, and disclosed. The information below is intended to provide transparency so you can make informed decisions before choosing what to share.

Truly, we welcome your contact - thank you for reaching out.

(A) All messages sent to DPS are processed by an administrative team, may be stored electronically, including through platforms such as Wix, and records may be retained for at least 11 years, or longer when legally required.

(B) Please avoid sharing highly sensitive information, such as abuse, assault, work injury, disability, or legal matters, until you have had an opportunity to learn about the privacy limits and potentially extensive record retention requirements associated with these topics, as outlined in the DPS consent form.

(C) If information you share suggests there may be a significant risk of harm to yourself, another person, or an animal, I may need to take steps to support safety, which could include sharing information with appropriate individuals or services.

(D) In my practice, I consider you to be a client, consultee, or supervisee once we have met in person or online and reviewed and agreed to the initial informed consent information and, where applicable, the service agreement. Until then, please do not share personal or sensitive information during a meet-and-greet conversation, by email, or through my online booking system (Jane), as the privacy protections associated with a formal professional relationship may not yet apply.

For additional information about privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent, please see the Counselling section of this website.
