Dawn McBride
Owner
Reg. Psychologist,
CAP Supervisor, Educational Coach, Associate Professor, and National Counselling Ethics Expert.

Professor Dawn Lorraine McBride is a clinical psychologist and counselling ethics expert whose work centres on helping therapists, supervisors, and agencies practise ethically, sustainably, and with professional integrity. Through Dawn Psychological Services, she provides ethics consultation, business and professional coaching for therapists, support during ethical complaints and regulatory processes, and consultation to organizations seeking to strengthen ethical standards, consent practices, documentation, and policy development.

Dawn has worked in the helping professions for nearly 30 years and has taught in counsellor education for over 25 years. She is the author of the forthcoming textbook, The Big Cs in Canadian Ethics: Care, Consent, and Charting, which integrates ethical theory with applied clinical and organizational decision-making. Her approach to ethics is relational, values-based, and grounded in lived practice across clinical, supervisory, academic, and leadership contexts.
Her ethics expertise is informed by extensive clinical experience across multiple practice areas, including family violence, complex trauma and dissociation, work-related trauma, anxiety, obsessive compulsive presentations, self-harm, and personality-related concerns. Her longstanding work in the family violence field, supporting individuals who have caused harm, those who have been harmed, and those who have witnessed abuse, continues to shape her focus on safety, accountability, power, and relational responsibility in ethical practice.

In addition to her clinical background, Dawn brings deep experience in teaching, supervision, and research. As a tenured associate professor, she has scholarly work in ethics, consent and record-keeping, supervision and training, multicultural practice, and the advanced application of therapeutic approaches. She has received multiple teaching awards, co-edited a volume on teaching practices across cultures in higher education, and has presented nationally and internationally on counselling ethics and professional practice. She was also honoured to receive an award from the Calgary Women’s Shelter for contributions to clinical and ethical education.

Marden Anderson
Administrative Assistant I
Marden has a background in administrative health care and brings a deep understanding of both physical and emotional well-being. Over time, she has become increasingly drawn to mental health, with a strong foundation in working with seniors in healthcare and community-based settings.
She brings a person-centred, compassionate approach to administrative work. My goal is to support the behind-the-scenes operations with the same care and attention (as the rest of the team, however you want to phrase that).
ADDITIONALLY, she also works in senior care, which has taught her the power of listening and the importance of patience, discretion and clear communication.

Alyson Worrall
Registered Psychologist
Alyson has been a valuable behind-the-scenes assistant since 2021. She provides professional editing of DPS documents and projects.

SPECIAL BONUS! She is also a skilled registered psychologist who has a few open spots for clients. She is EMDR certified and has an extensive background in helping people reduce symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and depression.

FYI: Alyson has completed extensive training to serve as Dawn's lead group co-facilitator when Dawn offers her process-based group therapy training (with a somatic & attachment focus and a developmental group-stage approach).

Georgina Davidson
Zoom Training Cohost
Georgina came into counselling through a career in education. As an educator, she has learned to listen deeply and without judgment, to collaborate on finding solutions to the difficulties being experienced, and to respond with sensitivity and compassion to those whose life experience has included traumatic events, substance use, insecurity, and abusive relationships.

As a recently accepted CCC, she has found renewed passion and energy to challenge herself and grow in new ways.

"I bring with me decades of interpersonal experience, professional learning, and a unique skill set that allows me to have a positive impact on the world around me, one person at a time.
