Specialty Ethics Advanced Module:
Relational Consent™ & Relational Charting™ in the Context of Risk
Welcome Back! This advanced ethics module focuses on consent, liability, and documentation with safety concerns, focusing on duty to report protocols, suicide, domestic violence, and disclosures of abuse made by youth.
The training assumes participants already know how to conduct basic risk assessments and develop basic safety plans. Rather than teaching those foundational skills, we focus on the ethical decisions before, during, and after. This workshop emphasizes relational ethics, offering practical strategies to help protect client dignity while supporting defensible professional practice. Overall, the training will explore questions such as:
Did I lean enough into asking about safety concerns related to harm to self or others?
With all the consent material I have to cover, how do I make the 'safety talk' more relational?
