About the event

PRACTICAL CONSENT & CHARTING STRATEGIES FOR ETHICAL SUPERVISION: Ethics Specialty Module (Part 3).

A. OVERVIEW: Supervision is a distinct professional service with its own ethical responsibilities, documentation expectations, and potential liability. This advanced specialty ethics module focuses primarily on informed consent by establishing a strong ethical foundation through a detailed supervision agreement. A secondary focus introduces selected forms and routines for organizing and documenting supervision meetings, including supervisee learning, feedback, and follow-up. This brief, focused module is not intended to provide comprehensive training in delivering supervision.

In this training, we will discuss examples from supervisory practice, explore different perspectives, and examine the ethical reasoning behind complex supervisory decisions. This specialty module was developed by Dr. Dawn McBride and may be presented by Dawn, members of the DPS training team, or both. Participants are encouraged to adapt the content to their supervisory setting, applicable regulatory requirements, workplace policies, and professional judgment.…
